What is Pupil Premium?
The pupil premium grant is funding to improve educational outcomes for disadvantaged pupils.
The grant also provides support for children and young people with parents in the regular armed forces, referred to as service pupil premium (SPP).
We use the wealth of evidence of ‘what works’, evaluated by the Education Endowment Foundation, to use this funding effectively.
We carefully base our spending on the needs of our children. We target, where necessary, Pupil Premium to close gaps in attainment. We target our spending on a range of strategies to help improve learning, attendance or even enrichment. Each strategy is employed to ‘remove the barriers to learning’ and raise attainment and improve progress whilst measuring the positive impact on each child.
